The Internet of (Showbiz) Things
In this paper we examine scalability issues, both technical and cognitive, when deploying and supporting multiplatform multimedia systems in the GLAM sector. We demonstrate iterative development of an Internet of Things ecosystem for experiential entertainment and propose a methodology for “augmented set design” based on operational challenges and lessons learned across three exhibitions of increasing network complexity.
Mod is a small studio creating interactive stories and immersive experiences. The bespoke nature of our work coupled with small budgets has requires ingenuity around the use of mobile graphics and interactive applications. We examine operational challenges and lessons learned across three exhibitions that demonstrate iterative development of a more playful “plug-and-play” eco-system for creative multimedia experiences.
