PreVisualization, “PreVis” is known as an indispensable and critical process for movie-making in Europe and the United States, but its significance has not been fully perceived throughout Asia. Asian countries have many traditional stories and unique ideas. With such stories and ideas, movie-making in Asia can produce great films with PreVis.
Although there are not many schools to study PreVis, PreVis education is becoming highly important for next generation of movie-making in Asian countries. The talents and the educational environments have to be established for making higher quality movies in Asia.
We have established “PREVIS SOCIETY ASIA” to promote growth of PreVis in Asia this year. This panel is one of our efforts. The purpose of this panel is to discuss how to develop PreVis for better movie-making in Asia with the audience and to make our society’s first step at SIGGRAPH ASIA 2015. We consider providing education for PreVis is the most important purpose of our society. PREVIS SOCIETY ASIA will suggest a new step of education for movie-making in Asia.

The following three themes will be discussed at the panel.
1) Why is PreVis important for movie-making?
2) How to promote PreVis in Asia
3) Why is education for PreVis necessary?

We will discuss what PreVis can do in Asia in this session with panelists who have very broad experiences in their work and education. We also hope to show and suggest the next stage of movie-making in Asia to the audience also at the panel.
