EDUCATIONAL ESCARGORE: Visual Effects Education Practices At Media Design School

Media Design School's Bachelor of Art and Design degree is designed to educate students about the art and craft of the modern visual effects industry and to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to become a part of it.

We believe we have successfully implemented methods of educating students that achieves both academic outcomes and provides the benefits of realistic working environments. This approach has been applied to the recent film production “Escargore”, and subsequent film production projects.

This talk aims to showcase the inner workings of Media Design School's methods in creating an in class studio environment and the addition of industry production tools such as Shotgun. These tools have been tailored by us to not only assist with the production, but also assessment.

This approach has improved efficiency and created an honest real world film production experience, without forgetting the overall objective - The learning outcomes of the participating student.
