Haptic vibration for hands and bodies

Y. Suzuki and R. Suzuki produced facial equipment “your honorable face vibrator”. This facial equipment has been made by performing transcription on Tactile Score choosing massages that have been chosen by hundreds of thousands of customers over the past 20 years so to say social and economic demonstration experiments at the esthetic salon owned by Reiko Suzuki who is a research collaborator and esthetician. Junji Watanabe has developed a haptic chair with a speaker under the seat and we can feel haptic vibration from the chair. We found that we can have extraordinary haptic sensations by using the chair and a haptic device which we used for the facial equipment with playing highly designed haptic vibrational waves by using Tactile Score when we sit on the chair and hold the haptic device in our hands and stretch our arms forward and close our eyes. We do not know why, but “extending arms forward with the haptic device in hands” is important to evoke extraordinary haptic sensation. This is very simple system so we believe we can develop the system much further. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of this system, we compared haptic vibrations given from both the chair and haptic device with from either the chair or haptic device by detecting the change in both sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves that are indicators of the mental stress.
